1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any Galen Health product or service (“Services”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Description of Services

Galen Health provides AI-powered research and information tools for cancer biology and biopharma R&D, including the Galen chat assistant. These tools are designed for research and educational purposes only.

3. Medical Disclaimer

Galen Health does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. The information provided through our Services is for research and educational purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult with your healthcare team before making any medical decisions.

4. No Protected Health Information (PHI)

The Services are not HIPAA-eligible and are not authorized to receive Protected Health Information. You agree not to upload, paste, transmit, or otherwise submit any identified patient data through the Services, including but not limited to patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, social-security numbers, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, biometric identifiers, full-face photographs, or any other identifier listed under 45 CFR §164.514(b)(2), as well as lab values, imaging readings, or biomarker results tied to an identifiable individual.

If you are a clinician, researcher, or other party subject to HIPAA, you are responsible for de-identifying any clinical content before sharing it with the Services. We may, at our discretion, suspend or terminate accounts that submit PHI, and we may purge PHI from our systems without notice.

5. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Services or help anyone else do so. You may not use the Services for any unlawful purpose, to distribute harmful content, to circumvent security or rate limits, to attempt to extract or train upon underlying model weights, to submit Protected Health Information in violation of Section 4, or to interfere with the operation of the Services.

7. Intellectual Property

The Services, including all content, features, and functionality, are owned by Galen Health and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8. API Usage

Use of the Galen Developer API is subject to rate limits and usage policies as described in the API documentation. API keys are personal and non-transferable. You are responsible for all usage under your API key.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Galen Health shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
