He sets Galen’s scientific frame: what the virtual cell must predict, how its claims stay answerable to measurement, and how discovery reaches the clinic.
Kushagra Agarwal
Co-founder & CTO
Kushagra Agarwal builds the virtual cell — computational biology and data-science training from IIIT Hyderabad and Carnegie Mellon. He leads the models, the biological data systems, and the scientific software they run on.
How Galen started.
Logan and Kushagra met as graduate students at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science. Their early work in clinical AI made one bottleneck increasingly clear: many of the most important decisions in medicine begin upstream, before the clinic, where scientists decide which biological changes are worth testing. Galen is built around that conviction: the future of medicine depends on choosing which biological changes are worth testing — and designing them with precision. Today the company is based in San Francisco.
